Paul Scholes sends Man United warning to Paul Pogba
Paul Pogba explains why Paul Pogba must be expected to perform in a variety of positions for Manchester United
Paul Scholes has warned Paul Pogba that will be expected to perform in a variety of midfield positions for Manchester United.
The French midfielder is currently getting to grips with life back at Old Trafford after his world-record transfer back to the club from Juventus last summer.
Pogba has been a regular fixture in the Manchester United first team this season under new boss Jose Mourinho as he bids to hold down a regular spot in the side.
The 23-year-old has scored four goals and made three assists in 24 Premier League games for Manchester United to help them up to sixth place in the table.
However, Scholes feels that Pogba must show the adaptability to play in a number of different positions for the Red Devils this season given what is expected from him.
Speaking on BT Sport ahead of Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Saint-Etienne, Scholes said of Pogba: “These days midfield players always get pigeonholed into one position.
“I think, as a Manchester United midfield player, you should be able to do everything and I think he [Pogba] is more than capable of having an impact in all aspects of the game.”
Manchester United take on Blackburn in the FA Cup on Sunday.
