Daniel Sturridge has revealed that he has been sent home from Liverpool’s warm weather training camp in Spain due to illness.
The England striker has been struggling with a virus in recent days and headed to Spain with his team-mates eager to work on his fitness levels.
However, the forward’s condition has not improved in recent days and the decision has been taken to sent the striker back to Liverpool to recover.
Sturridge posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Friday afternoon, and moved to play down the seriousness of his condition.
The striker shared the photo and wrote the caption: “lil virus ting. Nothing crazy I’ll be training when the boys gets back. Contagious ting. No risk…. ✌🏾”
Liverpool are currently enjoying a 16-day break from first-team football as they prepare for their Premier League clash against Leicester City later this month.
The Reds are fifth in the table as they bid to break into the top four in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge.
