Marcos Alonso caught up with some friends in Madrid after Chelsea's 3-1 win over Arsenal at the weekend

Marcos Alonso looked to be in good spirits as he enjoyed some downtime in Madrid ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Burnley this weekend.

Antonio Conte has given his players some time off to recuperate after a gruelling start to the season.

Alonso has been in fine form for Chelsea this season and scored the Blues’ opening goal in their 3-1 win over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

That victory lifted the Blues nine points clear at the top of the table and all but ended Arsenal’s title hopes this season.

Chelsea are now preparing for their trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley on Sunday afternoon as they look to take another step towards the title.

And Alonso seemed to be happy to enjoy some time off catching up with friends in Madrid this week.
