Marcos Alonso has his say after Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League

Marcos Alonso claimed that Chelsea were unlucky not to beat Liverpool in Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at Anfield in the Premier League.

The Blues took the lead thanks to David Luiz’s first-half free-kick on Merseyside but were pegged back after the break when Georginio Wijnaldum headed home in the 57th minute.

Diego Costa spurned the chance to earn all three points for the visitors when he missed a late penalty at Anfield.

The draw left Chelsea nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table heading into Saturday’s crunch clash with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

And summer signing Alonso was feeling in a philosophical mood after the Blues’ 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Alonso took to Instagram after the result, sharing the picture above and writing the caption: “Unlucky not to get the 3 points tonight. Away fans outstanding once again! #LIVCHE #PL @chelseafc”
