Piers Morgan delivers controversial verdict on Arsene Wenger after Arsenal’s 2-0 win

The outspoken Arsenal fan delivers his verdict on their 2-0 win at Sutton United in the FA Cup on Monday night

Piers Morgan admitted that he wanted Arsenal to lose to Sutton United in the FA Cup in order to seal Arsene Wenger’s departure at The Emirates before Lucas Perez and Theo Walcott scored in a 2-0 win in the fifth round on Monday night.

The Gunners were looking to rebound from a 5-1 loss to Bundesliga holders Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash mid-week which served to heap further pressure on Wenger ahead of the expiration of his contract at the end of the 2016-17 season.

Arsenal eased to a 2-0 win against Sutton United, though, thanks to Perez’s first-half opener before Walcott netted his 100th goal for the north London club to set up a last-eight tie against Lincoln City at the Emirates Stadium.

However, Morgan took to Twitter to post a series of tweets that questioned his fellow Arsenal fans and their continuing support of Wenger.

When Match Of The Day host Gary Lineker suggested that Wenger could get a new deal thanks to their FA Cup win, Morgan was quick to respond.

Arsenal are in fourth place in the Premier League table.
