Pundit makes prediction about Cesc Fabregas’ Chelsea future
Glenn Hoddle says Cesc Fabregas' future at Chelsea is likely to be left up to him
Glenn Hoddle believes that Cesc Fabregas’ Chelsea future will ultimately be left down to the player himself.
The Spanish midfielder has found his first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge somewhat restricted since Antonio Conte’s appointment as the club’s new manager last summer.
Fabregas was restored to the Chelsea starting line-up for their FA Cup sixth-round clash against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday night.
However, the Spaniard has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the Premier League, despite being one of Chelsea’s top performers when called upon.
Former England boss Hoddle is a huge fan of the ex-Arsenal captain and feels that the player himself will have the final say about his future.
Speaking on BT Sport ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Wolves on Saturday night, Hoddle said: “He’s a wonderful footballer. I think his future is down to him really. He has been sitting on the bench.
“He finds Costa almost with his eyes shut, and they’ve been doing it season after season.
“He elevates them offensively. Chelsea are a better team football-wise with Fabregas in it.”
Chelsea return to Premier League action with a home clash against Swansea on 25 February as they look to cement their status as the favourites for the title.
