Pundit: Man United are turning into Chelsea
Danny Mills says Manchester United are starting to show similarities to Chelsea's style of play
Manchester United are starting to show similarities to Jose Mourinho’s old Chelsea side, according to Danny Mills.
The Red Devils stretched their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 16 games on Saturday with a comfortable 2-0 win over Watford at Old Trafford.
Mourinho’s side have begun to show the sort of consistency expected from one of the Portuguese coach’s teams and look to have made significant progress since the manager’s appointment at Old Trafford last May.
And former defender Mills feels that Manchester United are likely to be very difficult to beat between now and the end of the season.
Speaking to BBC Sport’s Football Focus, Mills said: “What we are starting to see at Manchester United now under Mourinho is that Chelsea style of play.
“That Inter Milan style of play.
“They’re defensively strong. They’re not going to lose many games.”
Manchester United are sixth in the Premier League table and 11 points behind leaders Chelsea before the Blues’ trip to Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils are aiming to break back into the top four this season and qualify for the Champions League.
