Pundit: This is what Cesc Fabregas does better than Chelsea midfield duo

Paul Ince says Cesc Fabregas is better at dictating the play than Nemanja Matic or N’Golo Kante when he plays in Chelsea’s midfield.

The Spanish midfielder has been forced to watch from the sidelines for much of the season after failing to hold down a regular starting spot in Antonio Conte’s team.

Fabregas has been limited to just five Premier League starts for Chelsea so far this season but has impressed whenever called upon by the Blues’ new boss.

Former Manchester United star Ince is a huge admirer of the Spaniard and feels that he brings something different to the play for the west London side.

Speaking on BT Sport before Chelsea’s FA Cup win over Wolves on Saturday, Ince said: “They’ve got more balance when he plays.

“What he’s got different to Matic and Kante is that he controls games. He dictates the pace of the game and you can see the telepathy he has with Costa.

“He looks for Costa every time he gets the ball.”

Chelsea now turn their attentions back to Premier League affairs and their home clash with Swansea City next weekend.

The west London side are currently flying eight points clear at the top of the table.
