Chris Waddle has claimed that Chelsea will be feeling disappointed that they couldn’t extend their lead to 11 points at the top of the Premier League table.

The Blues left Anfield with a point after a 1-1 draw with Liverpool to leave Antonio Conte’s side nine points clear of their closest rivals Arsenal and Spurs.

David Luiz broke the deadlock in the first half with a superb free-kick before Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum levelled with a close-range header.

Diego Costa was presented with the chance to secure three points after he was brought down in the penalty area but the Chelsea striker missed his spot-kick.

Arsenal, meanwhile, suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to relegation-threatened Watford at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night to leave the Gunners nine points off the pace.

Tottenham Hotspur were also left frustrated after a goalless draw with Premier League strugglers Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Speaking to BBC Sport on Tuesday night, former Spurs midfielder Waddle explained why Chelsea will be feeling disappointed about their 1-1 stalemate.
