Report delivers latest update on Man United’s transfer pursuit of Antoine Griezmann
Antoine Griezmann would only consider a move to Manchester United in the summer if they are in the Champions League, say reports
Antoine Griezmann will turn down a transfer to Manchester United this summer if the Red Devils fail to make the Champions League, according to reports.
The Sun is reporting that the France international would not be interested in a move to Old Trafford should Jose Mourinho’s men miss out on a place in Europe’s elite club competition.
The same story claims that Griezmann is Manchester United’s top transfer target for the summer as Mourinho looks to bolster his squad ahead of his second season in charge at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a summer swoop for the Atletico Madrid star in recent months but Manchester United currently face a fight to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Manchester United are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table as they bid to finish in the top four, but they also have the possibility of qualifying for the Champions League by winning the Europa League this season.
The same article says Manchester United are prepared to trigger the £85m release clause in Griezmann’s contract at Old Trafford.
But the player would reportedly turn his back on a move to Old Trafford if the Red Devils fail to qualify for the Champions League.
