Rio Ferdinand delivers verdict on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s hat-trick in Man United’s 3-0 win over Saint-Etienne on Twitter
The former Manchester United defender was impressed with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's performance in the Europa League
Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter to hail Zlatan Ibrahimovic after Manchester United striker netted a hat-trick in a 3-0 win against Saint-Etienne on Thursday night.
The 35-year-old broke the deadlock in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 clash thanks to a deflected free-kick as Ibrahimovic fired his attempt under the visitors’s wall.
Ibrahimovic extended the home side’s lead after the break with his 22nd goal of the 2016-17 season in all competitions to put the hosts in command of the European tie.
The 35-year-old netted his 17th goal against Saint-Etienne in the closing moments of the clash after Ibrahimovic’s penalty secured a 3-0 win against the French side.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand couldn’t resist paying tribute to the experienced striker on Twitter after the centre-forward’s hat-trick.

The Red Devils are looking to win their first European trophy since 2008 when Sir Alex Ferguson led the club to Champions League glory.
Manchester United are in sixth place in the Premier League table.
