Rio Ferdinand predicts where Man United will finish

Rio Ferdinand is tipping Manchester United to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season

Rio Ferdinand is convinced that Manchester United will finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

The Red Devils have it all to do as they bid to claw their way back into contention in the race for Champions League qualification.

Manchester United are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points behind leaders Chelsea as they look to finish in the top four in Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge at the club.

And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand is convinced that the Red Devils have what it takes to finish in the top four this season.

Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight Show, Ferdinand said: “They’ve left themselves with a lot to do.

“But the key word at this stage of the season is ‘momentum’. If you’ve got that in your armoury then you have a good chance of climbing the league and attaining a top four spot.

“I think United will get into there.”

Manchester United are aiming to break back into the top four this term after the disappointment of their fifth placed finish under Louis van Gaal last season.

The Red Devils won the FA Cup in the Dutchman’s last game in charge.
