Rio Ferdinand reacts to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s goal in Man United’s 1-0 win at Saint-Etienne
The former Manchester United defender hails Henrikh Mkhitaryan's winner at Saint-Etienne
Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter to celebrate Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s goal after the midfielder scored the winner in Manchester United’s 1-0 win at Saint-Etienne in the Europa League on Wednesday evening.
The Armenia international has been in excellent form in recent weeks and the attacking midfielder laid on a superb assist for Marcus Rashford in Manchester United’s 2-1 win at Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday afternoon.
However, Mkhitaryan went one step better in France as the 28-year-old handed the visitors a 4-0 aggregate lead with a confident finish against the Ligue 1 side in the 16th minute.
But the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder’s evening took a turn for the worse when he was forced off shortly after with a suspected hamstring problem.
Ferdinand, though, wasted no time taking to Twitter to react to Manchester United’s winner.
