Robbie Savage makes fascinating claim about Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp
The former Leicester midfielder enjoyed watching Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at the start of the season
Robbie Savage has claimed that Liverpool have been the most fascinating team to watch in the Premier League this season.
The Reds made a bright start to the 2016-17 campaign after beating Arsenal 4-3 in the opening fixture of the season before a 2-1 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in October.
Liverpool have drawn home and away with Manchester United, earned a point at Tottenham Hotspur, while the Reds were 1-0 winners at Everton in the Merseyside derby in December.
Klopp’s side were 1-0 winners against title rivals Manchester City at Anfield on New Year’s Eve but failed to win three league games on the spin before the visit of Chelsea to leave them well off the pace in the title race.
Speaking to BBC Sport’s 606 podcast, Savage explained why Liverpool have been the most fascinating team to watch in the Premier League this season.
“When Jurgen Klopp plays his strongest XI, I would say Liverpool are the most fascinating team to watch… I would say at times yes [they’ve been better than Chelsea]. They went there and won there.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League last season after Klopp took over the reins back in October 2015.
