Steven Gerrard replies when asked if Arsenal will finish in the top four

Steven Gerrard replies when asked if Arsenal could end up outside the top four spots this season

Steven Gerrard has warned Arsenal that they are in danger of dropping out of the top four this season in the Premier League.

The north London side have earned a reputation for consistently finishing in the top four and securing Champions League qualification in recent seasons.

The Gunners are currently in fourth place in the table as they bid to secure their spot in Europe’s elite club competition for next season.

Arsenal are 10 points behind leaders Chelsea and it seems that a top-four finish is all that Arsene Wenger’s men have left to play for this season.

However, former Liverpool captain Gerrard feels the Gunners could be one of the teams to miss out on a top-four finish this season.

Asked if Arsenal could drop out of the top four this season, Gerrard told BT Sport: “I think it’s possible because they can be sensational one week and then the next week not turn up.

“They’re capable of stupid results, a bit like Liverpool in the last six weeks and a bit like Tottenham.

“You don’t really know what to expect from them.”

Arsenal are currently gearing up for their crunch Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
