Thierry Henry has admitted that he has been proved wrong by Olivier Giroud at Arsenal.
The French striker has often been questioned as not being quite at the level to help propel Arsenal to a genuine Premier League title challenge.
Henry has questioned whether Giroud has the ability to help fire Arsenal to the title in the past.
However, the former Arsenal star has now been forced to admit that he has been proved wrong by the French forward following his impactful displays for Arsenal so far this season.
Giroud has scored 11 goals in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season, although Arsenal have fallen off the pace in the race for the title.
Henry told RMC Sport: “It was two years ago, at the end of the season.
“I was asked what Arsenal had to change next year to win the title.
“So I said: ‘You have to stop having repeated wounds, have a strong column in the team, buy a defender, a goalkeeper and another attacker who can relieve Olivier and take the role of attacker No.1.’ That’s what I said.
“And I added that if Olivier is the No.1 striker, I do not know if he can hold a whole season with the pressure of having to score every game.
“But today he does an amazing job and when he comes in he does what he has to do.
“He scores and is very good back to goal. I would have liked to have played with him.”
Arsenal are currently gearing up for their home clash against Hull City at The Emirates on Saturday as they look to get back to winning ways following back to back defeats in the Premier League by Watford and Chelsea.
