Thierry Henry replies when asked if Man United will sign Antoine Griezmann
Thierry Henry discusses the transfer speculation linking Manchester United with a summer swoop for Antoine Griezmann
Thierry Henry says Antoine Griezmann would be a brilliant signing for Manchester United in the summer transfer window and has urged the Frenchman to move to the Premier League in the future.
Manchester United are bound to be on the lookout for new signings in the summer transfer window as Jose Mourinho prepares for his second season in charge at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have been linked with a big-money bid for the Atletico Madrid star in recent weeks in various reports in the media, with Arsenal also touted as a possible destination.
And former Arsenal captain Henry feels that Griezmann would be a solid addition to any Premier League team.
Asked if he expects Manchester United to sign Griezmann in the summer, Henry told Sky Sports News HQ on Tuesday afternoon: “He is someone who should come to the Premier League. If he goes to Old Trafford then he’ll be great for them.
“He is a player that you need [in England], for the league and the fans, to be able to see that guy. I’ve known him for a very long time. People are talking about him going to Man United – it speaks volumes of how far he has come.
“For me, he should come to England. Will it be Man United? I don’t know, but he should come to the Premier League.”
Manchester United moved quickly to bring in Mourinho as the club’s new manager last summer after their fifth-placed finish in the top flight under Louis van Gaal.
