Thierry Henry sends Arsenal warning to Liverpool
Thierry Henry feels that Arsenal's players will be out to prove a point against Liverpool next month
Thierry Henry has warned Liverpool that Arsenal’s players will be out to prove a point when the Gunners take on the Reds in the Premier League next month.
The north London side are still reeling from their demoralising 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Gunners were thrashed by the Bundesliga side in the second half at the Allianz Arena as they were left with their European hopes in tatters.
Arsene Wenger’s men will first look to get back to winning ways when they take on Sutton United in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday night.
Arsenal will then switch their attentions towards their crunch Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield on 4 March.
And Henry feels that Arsenal’s players will be desperate to prove that they can cut it in a big game against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Writing in his column for The Sun, Henry said: “Next up it’s Sutton on Monday. I hope they can win that!
“Then it’s Liverpool away. That’s a massive game.
“It’s the best fixture they can have. If I was an Arsenal player that is just what I’d want coming up.
“It’s a chance to shut up the detractors, to prove you are good enough. I’d be saying bring it on. Time to show we can be strong away from home, lift confidence.
“But if Liverpool are allowed to play the way they did against Tottenham or Chelsea it could be a long day for Arsenal.”
