Watch: Zlatan Ibrahimovic reveals manager’s advice for Man United striker

The Manchester United striker reveals some useful advice from his ex-manager Fabio Capello

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has lifted the lid on some wise advice that the Manchester United striker received from Fabio Capello during the early stages of his career.

The 35-year-old has enjoyed a positive week after the veteran centre-forward scored a hat-trick in Manchester United’s 3-0 win against Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 tie.

Ibrahimovic has now scored 23 times in his first season at Old Trafford after the striker completed a free transfer to Manchester United from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window.

The Swedish forward has played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG during his playing career before his switch to the 20-time English champions.

Ibrahimovic underlined his status as one of Europe’s best strikers during his spell at Juventus under the charge of Capello.

And the Manchester United striker revealed Capello’s advice for the striker in an interview on the club’s Instagram page.

Ibrahimovic said: “Have respect and gain respect. Once I learned [this] in my life when I met Fabio Capello. He said: ‘You don’t ask for respect, you get your respect’. So make sure you get your respect.”
