Zlatan Ibrahimovic offers ‘unpredictable’ advice to Man United
The Manchester United striker isn't underestimating any of their upcoming opponents
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has warned his Manchester United team-mates that every English game is unpredictable as Jose Mourinho’s side close in on a treble.
The Red Devils came from 1-0 down to ease to a 2-1 victory over Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday afternoon.
Indeed, Ibrahimovic proved to be Manchester United’s match-winner after the 35-year-old came off the bench to score a 75th-minute effort following Marcus Rashford’s first-half equaliser.
The former AC Milan and Barcelona striker has enjoyed a seamless transition to English football following his free transfer from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
Speaking to The Guardian after Manchester United’s FA Cup victory, Ibrahimovic was showing no signs of complacency despite the Red Devils booking their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
“Me and Paul Pogba came on to boost us up a little bit and it worked, we are happy with the win and we are still in every cup. We keep going, we get more confidence and now we are in the decisive part of the season,” Ibrahimovic said.
“Every game is unpredictable since I came to England. You need to make as few mistakes as possible, every game in the FA Cup is like a final, there are so many results not going to the favourites. We respect everyone.”
Manchester United will make the trip to Premier League leaders Chelsea in the last eight of the competition.
The Red Devils lost 4-0 to Antonio Conte’s side in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge in October – their last defeat in domestic competitions.
