Zlatan Ibrahimovic sends message to Man United fans about Anthony Martial

Zlatan Ibrahimovic reveals that his breakfast chats with Anthony Martial at Manchester United helped the striker find form

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that his breakfast chats with Anthony Martial at Manchester United have helped the striker regain his best form.

The French striker had struggled to find consistent form in the top flight following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as the Red Devils’ new manager back in May.

Martial, however, was back on form on Saturday as he was restored to the starting line-up for the 2-0 win over Watford.

The striker scored one and set up the other as Mourinho’s men kept their bid for Champions League qualification on track with victory over the Hornets.

And Ibrahimovic has lifted the lid on what Martial was like behind closed doors at Carrington following his recent dip in form for the Red Devils.

Ibrahimovic is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “When we eat breakfast, he sits beside me and we talk.

“It’s not like you go to one and try to cheer him up. It’s a good atmosphere, the guys are very professional, positive vibes.

“It’s not like we go around to everybody and talk. It’s about the moment, when the situation is there. He’s training well. He’s not a guy who speaks a lot, he’s pretty quiet. He has been very professional and training hard.

“It depends on every individual person, what kind of person they are. It depends on his approach and how open they are. He seems to do OK. He’s not going around with his head down. He’s positive and has a lot of energy.

“He did well and scored a nice goal. It’ll be good for his confidence and good for the team as well.”
