The reporter tweeted on Saturday morning that Hazard had suffered a muscle injury in the build-up to the clash against the Potters and did not travel with the Chelsea squad.
Terreur, who writes for Belgian newspaper HLN, went on to explain that Hazard will be expected to pull out of his national team’s forthcoming fixtures.
Terreur tweeted on Saturday morning: “Belgium are aware that Eden Hazard has suffered a muscle injury. Would confirm yesterday’s reports that he hasn’t travelled to Stoke.
“Eden Hazard is expected to pull out of the Belgium squad for the games vs Greece and Russia, once the extent of his injury is known. #cfc”
The news will come as a significant blow to the Blues, who are bidding to keep their Premier League title bid on track.
Chelsea are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table as they look to try and win the title in Antonio Conte’s first season at the club.
The west London side finished in 10th place and without a trophy last season in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
