The Reds and the Citizens played out a 1-1 draw at The Etihad on Sunday afternoon as Sergio Aguero’s equaliser cancelled out James Milner’s penalty as the two sides shared the spoils.
Liverpool are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table as they look to secure Champions League qualification in Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.
Manchester City, meanwhile, are in third place and a point ahead of Klopp’s side with 10 games left to play this season.
However, Redknapp feels that the top four is likely to stay as it is and is backing both Liverpool and City to secure Champions League qualification for next season.
Redknapp told Sky Sports: “Man City go against Arsenal next and then Chelsea before facing Southampton.
“There are big games to come but both Man City and Liverpool will finish in the top four.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League and without a trophy last season.
