Paul Ince reacts to Man United’s 1-1 draw with FC Rostov in Europa League

The Manchester United legend delivers his verdict on the Red Devils' 1-1 draw with FC Rostov in the Europa League

Paul Ince warned Manchester United that there is more work to do despite their 1-1 draw with FC Rostov in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Red Devils made the trip to Russia looking to secure a first-leg advantage in the Europa League last-16 clash ahead of the return trip to Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho opted to start with a physical line-up to counter the difficult playing conditions at FC Rostov ahead of next Monday’s FA Cup quarter-final.

Maroaune Fellaini and Zlatan Ibrahimovic combined in the first half to tee up Henrikh Mkhitaryan to make the breakthrough and to score in successive Europa League games.

However, Daley Blind’s mistake in the second half allowed FC Rostov to equalise and give the Russian side something to play for in the second leg in Manchester.

Speaking to BT Sport about the result in Russia, former Manchester United captain Ince wasn’t getting carried away with the result.

“I wouldn’t say job done. When you look at the elements of tonight’s game, Mourinho and his players would have taken a draw,” Ince told BT Sport.

“I thought Rostov were there for the taking after Manchester United went 1-0 up. But the Manchester United players will be chuffed ahead of the return leg at Old Trafford.”
