Marcel Desailly has warned Manchester United that Antoine Griezmann will not consider a summer move to Old Trafford if the Red Devils do not qualify for the Champions League.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a big-money move to bring Griezmann to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho begins to think about bolstering his squad for next season.

However, Manchester United have struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League and currently face a fight on their hands to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Mourinho’s men could still qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League this season.

However, Chelsea legend Desailly feels that Griezmann would not even consider a transfer to Manchester United if the Red Devils do not qualify for Europe’s elite club competition.

Desailly is quoted as saying by Metro: “Things have been moving very quick for him, but Griezmann cannot move to United if they finish outside the top four.

“I think he has still to prove that he is one of the very top players in the highest category and he needs to enjoy another year at this level.”
