Antonio Conte is already looking ahead to Chelsea's crunch clash with Manchester United next weekend

Antonio Conte has told stressed the importance of his Chelsea players enjoying a long rest before their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester United next weekend.

The Italian manager watched his side take another step towards winning the Premier League title this season when the Blues secured an impressive 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

Goals from Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso wrapped up all three points for Conte’s side as they kept their seven point lead at the top of the table.

The Blues now have a free week to prepare for their testing clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

And Conte has talked up the importance of his players taking some time away from football to recharge their batteries in the build-up to the game.

Speaking to BT Sport after Saturday’s game, Conte said: “We won against a strong team but now it’s important to rest, and then to restart and prepare for the game in the right way against Manchester United.”

Chelsea will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-finals later this month as they chase a domestic double this season.
