Antonio Conte believes that Chelsea now have a “50 per cent” chance of winning the Premier League title this season.

The Italian manager watched his side slump to a disappointing 2-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as they suffered a blow to their Premier League title hopes.

That result left Chelsea just four points clear of second-placed Tottenham heading into the final six games of the Premier League season.

Tottenham have been in fine form in recent weeks and closed the gap down to Chelsea thanks to their 4-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

And Conte feels that his side will have to step up their focus in the coming games if they want to win their second title in three seasons.

Speaking at his post-match news conference at Old Trafford, Conte said: “The situation is simple today.

“We have to think there are six finals from now until the end. The league is open. We have a 50 per cent probability of winning the league. We must know this.

“If we finish top of the table it means we deserve to, otherwise it means another team deserves it.”
