Antonio Conte opens up about Jose Mourinho ahead of Man United v Chelsea
Antonio Conte plays down the significance of any touchline disagreements with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho
Antonio Conte has played down any touchline disagreements with Jose Mourinho as he prepares to take his Chelsea side to Manchester United on Sunday.
The Blues head into their clash against the Red Devils looking for a victory to take another step towards winning the Premier League title this season.
Chelsea are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table as they prepare to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Conte and Mourinho clashed in front of the television cameras on the touchline during Manchester United’s visits to Chelsea in the FA Cup and Premier League this season.
However, Conte has played down any talk of a serious disagreement between the pair as they prepare for Sunday’s showdown at Old Trafford.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Cobham on Friday afternoon, Conte said: “The sporting conflict is the game and two teams are in a sporting conflict during the game.
“It is not a friendly game, it is a game that another team wants the three points and for this reason you fight with all your possibility to try to win.
“I don’t like the conflict [on the touchline], l prefer to be concentrated and focused on my team but sometimes it can happen and it is normal for me and for the other coach to have sometimes this type of situation.
“But if you ask me if I like or don’t like it, I prefer to be focused on the game, to understand the game and to find the right solution if my team is in difficulty.”
Manchester United head into Sunday’s game in fifth place in the Premier League table and on the back of their 1-1 draw with Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday night.
