Antonio Conte replies when asked which Chelsea star should win PFA award
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte refuses to pick either N'Golo Kante or Eden Hazard to win the PFA player of the year award
Antonio Conte refused to be drawn into picking a Chelsea star to win the PFA player of the year award this season.
Both N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard have been rewarded for their fine performances this season by being nominated for the prestigious individual prize.
Kante has been one of the Premier League’s top performers since his arrival at Stamford Bridge from Leicester City last summer.
Hazard, meanwhile, has banished the demons of last season and has been a consistent performer in the Chelsea team this season.
However, despite acknowledging that both players have been fundamental to Chelsea’s success this season, Conte refused to single out one of the two stars to win the award.
Speaking at his news conference on Friday afternoon, Conte said: “I don’t like to make a choice between two players. It’s not right.
“I think they deserve the best, they are having a great season. Like all my players.
“I am pleased because it is a fight between my two players and the other teams and I want to see who wins.”
Chelsea are currently gearing up for their crunch Premier League showdown against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues head into this weekend’s round of game seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
