Aaron Ramsey: What Arsene Wenger has told me about his Arsenal future
Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal's players are in the dark about Arsene Wenger's future beyond the summer
Aaron Ramsey has revealed that Arsene Wenger has not told his Arsenal players whether he will be staying at the club beyond the summer.
The Frenchman’s situation at The Emirates has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks as he approaches the end of current contract, which expires in the summer.
It remains to be seen whether Wenger will extend his current deal at The Emirates as the clock ticks down on his current deal.
However, Arsenal midfielder Ramsey has revealed that he and his team-mates are just as in the dark as the club’s fans about Wenger’s situation.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Ramsey said: “The manager hasn’t said anything about it. He’s our manager and we’re delighted to play for him.
“He’s been brilliant for us so hopefully we can repay him by finishing off this season strongly and hopefully win something for him.
“As players, we haven’t really discussed it, we just want to go out there and try to win the game so we’re focused and trying to work hard throughout the week to put it right at the weekend.
“We’re professional footballers so we have to go out there and perform as best we can and try and get the results that we want.
“There’s a lot of things going on at the moment but we have to turn a blind eye to that and concentrate on what we are here to do.”
Ramsey will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhust Park on Monday night.
The north London side are aiming to claw their way back into the Champions League spots before the season is out.
