Claudio Ranieri has claimed that Arsenal’s players are lacking the fight needed to win games for manager Arsene Wenger.

It has been a dismal few weeks for the Gunners, and their hopes of finishing in the top four took another blow on Monday night when they were beaten 3-0 by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal have now only won two of their last eight games in the Premier League to leave their hopes of Champions League qualification in serious doubt.

The Gunners are in sixth place in the Premier League table and will have to string together an impressive run of form before the end of the campaign if they want to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

And former Leicester City boss Ranieri has given his verdict on Arsenal current situation under Wenger.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football after the loss to Palace, Ranieri said: “The players are used to fighting for something.

“Now are they very far. I didn’t see the fighting spirit I like. The players are used to play for the Premier League and the Champions League but maybe they don’t have the mentality [to fight] this year when it’s not so good.”
