Jamie Carragher predicts where Arsenal will finish
Jamie Carragher says Arsenal still have a fighting chance of finishing in the top for this season
Jamie Carragher believes that Arsenal still have a “fighting chance” of finishing in the top four this season.
The Gunners kept their faint hopes of securing Champions League qualification alive on Monday night with a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
That victory left Arsene Wenger’s men in sixth place in the Premier League table but the Gunners know that they will move to within three points of third-placed Liverpool if they win their games in hand.
The north London side are certainly going to face an uphill struggle to qualify for next season’s Champions League but Carragher feels that Monday’s win has kept their hopes alive.
Speaking on Monday Night Football, Carragher said: “It was a huge win and it gives them a fighting chance of finishing in the top four.”
Arsenal are currently gearing up for their crunch FA Cup semi-final clash against Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners finished second and without a trophy last season but won the FA Cup in both 2014 and 2015.
