Gary Neville has criticised the Arsenal players for their apparent lack of passion during their 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

Arsenal fell behind early on when Leroy Sane struck in the fifth minute, but Theo Walcott scored an equaliser before half-time.

However, the visitors were soon in front again when Sergio Aguero drilled home, but it was Shkodran Mustafi who had the final say when he headed home an equaliser after the break.

Walcott did not do much to celebrate his equalising goal in the first half and there were muted celebrations from a handful of Arsenal players.

And former Manchester United defender Neville was perplexed by what he saw from the Gunners at The Emirates on Sunday,

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Neville said: “It was strange [the lack of celebration], because if the love of the game and the celebration of a goal has left you, then what have you got left?

“At least go and get the ball and run back to the half-way line. Do something that shows that there’s either a level or enjoyment or urgency.

“To score a goal and just half-react, it was weird. There were a lot of strange things out there today. The atmosphere was edgy and it just doesn’t feel right. But that’s no excuse not to celebrate.”

Arsenal now turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs as they prepare to host West Ham United at The Emirates on Wednesday night.

The Gunners are still sixth in the table and seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with 10 games left to play.
