Graeme Souness is not expecting to see Arsenal finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.

The Gunners are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table as they bid to try and secure their spot in next season’s Champions League.

Arsene Wenger’s side have been in stuttering form in recent weeks, with the Gunners having only won one of their last six Premier League games.

The north London side are facing the very real possibility of missing out on a place in next season’s Champions League.

And former Liverpool star Souness is certain that the Gunners have left themselves with too much to do in the race for Champions League qualification.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning, Souness said: “In past years there are seasons where you’d look at Arsenal and say they are only two or three players away from that [winning the league].

“They needed to get two or three men for key areas. They never did that. They’ve drifted and that’s why they will miss out on the Champions League this year. This is the year they don’t make it.”
