Arsene Wenger has told Arsenal fans that he is already thinking about which players he wants to bring to the club in the summer transfer window.

Wenger’s situation at Arsenal has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks due to the fact that his contract at The Emirates is due to expire at the end of the season and there is yet to be an official announcement about his future.

It remains to be seen whether Wenger will still be in charge at Arsenal or if he will call time on his career at the club, which began in 1996.

However, the Frenchman has indicated that he is already planning for the future at The Emirates by confirming that he is on the lookout for potential signings this summer.

Asked if he is looking at summer transfer targets, Wenger told a news conference on Tuesday: “Yes, of course.”

Then, asked whether that is a clue about his own future, he replied: “No. I work until the last day of the season for the present and the future and the transfer targets are the future of the club and of course, it’s very important.”

Wenger is currently preparing his Arsenal side for their crunch Premier League clash against Leicester City at The Emirates on Wednesday night as they look to keep their top-four hopes alive.

The Gunners finished second in the table and without a trophy last season but won the FA Cup in 2014 and 2015.
