Paul Merson believes Manchester City will beat Arsenal in their FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

Arsene Wenger’s side have struggled with consistency in the second half of the season after crashing out of the Champions League and falling off the pace in the Premier League title race.

Indeed, the north London side have lost seven of their last 13 games in all competitions to leave Wenger’s future at the Emirates Stadium in doubt.

Manchester City are in fourth place in the Premier League table and two points behind Liverpool in the race to secure a place in next season’s Champions League competition.

The Citizens were held to a 2-2 draw with Arsenal at The Emirates last month despite Pep Guardiola’s men dominating the Premier League clash in north London.

Writing in his Sky Sports column about Arsenal’s clash against Manchester City, former England midfielder backed the Citizens to secure their place in the final.

“I have to go for Manchester City here. It was a stroll in the park for them at times at the Emirates and they took their eye off the ball to end up with a 2-2 draw,” Merson said.

“I just don’t see Arsenal producing a big performance at the moment, the way they have capitulated in recent weeks has been really poor.”
