Pundit reveals concern about Arsenal ahead of Man City clash
Greame Le Saux says Arsenal look distracted ahead of their clash against Manchester City in the FA Cup
Graeme Le Saux says Arsenal look like a distracted team ahead of their FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners will take on Pep Guardiola’s men at Wembley in pursuit of a place in their third FA Cup final in four seasons.
Arsenal returned to winning ways on Monday night thanks to a 2-1 win against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium courtesy of goals from Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
The Gunners have lost seven of their last 13 games in all competitions to leave Arsenal lagging behind in the top-four race and out of the Champions League for another season.
Arsenal played out a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in the Premier League last month despite Guardiola’s side producing a dominant performance at the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking to Betfair’s blog about the current crisis at the north London club, former Chelsea defender Le Saux warned Arsene Wenger that his team look distracted ahead of the cup clash.
“All that is probably a sign that Wenger is scratching around a little bit under the pressure he’s been under recently and I wonder how much time the squad have had to work on a three-at-the-back system,” Le Saux said.
“Overall, I can’t help but feel that Arsenal look like a distracted team at the moment.”
Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table.
