Michael Owen states his prediction for Arsenal v West Ham
Michael Owen looks ahead to Arsenal's clash with West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday
Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to get their top-four bid on track by beating West Ham United at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
It has been a difficult few weeks for Arsene Wenger’s men, with the Gunners having dropped down into sixth place in the Premier League table following a miserable run of form.
Wenger watched his side twice from from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Manchester City at The Emirates on Sunday.
The Gunners will be desperate to return to winning ways after a miserable run of just one win in their last six Premier League games.
And former Liverpool striker Owen is fully expecting to see Arsenal keep their fading top-four hopes alive by beating the Hammers at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “If Burnley are in danger of getting embroiled in a battle to avoid the drop the same can also be said of West Ham who have now lost more points (20) from winning positions than any other side in the division following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Hull on Saturday.
“The Hammers won this fixture, on the opening weekend of the campaign, last season but that was their only win at the home of the Gunners in their last 17 league visits. I expect to see a home win.
“Andy Carroll has now played 90 minutes in four successive league games for the first time in three years – his goal at the KCOM was his 50th in the Premier League. Congrats on reaching the landmark and if he stays fit he can certainly go on to join the 100 club.”
Arsenal are looking to break back into the top four this season after they ended up second and without a trophy last term.
