Mark Lawrenson is backing Arsenal to edge to West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Gunners came from behind twice to rescue a 2-2 draw with top-six rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal are in sixth place in the Premier League table and seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City with 10 games to go in the 2016-17 season.

Arsene Wenger’s side have only managed to win one of their last six games in the Premier League following losses to Chelsea, Liverpool, Watford and West Bromwich Albion.

The Gunners eased to a 5-1 win against West Ham in their Premier League meeting at the Olympic Stadium.

Speaking to BBC Sport ahead of Arsenal’s home clash against West Ham on Wednesday night, former Liverpool defender backed Wenger’s men to return to winning ways.

“West Ham have problems of their own, though, and I am sick of hearing about what their owners think about it,” Wright said.

“They don’t have to apologise on social media every time the Hammers lose, but it is like they cannot stay off it.

“Why not just let the manager explain if the team are beaten, and back the manager? Instead, Slaven Bilic’s future seems to be a topic of discussion every week.

“I am going for an Arsenal win on Wednesday, and if I am right we will probably hear a lot more about whether Bilic is being sacked – or not – this week.

“Even if Arsenal do win, though, I am not sure it would be a good enough result for Wenger to announce he is definitely staying for another couple of years.

“If that is what is happening, he should maybe save that news for a different day.”

Arsenal will take on Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final clash at Wembley later this month.
