Cesar Azpilicueta felt that Chelsea took another big step towards the Premier League title after Wednesday night’s 2-1 win against Manchester City.

The Blues were looking to respond to their setback in the Premier League at the weekend when Antonio Conte’s side suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to strugglers Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea, though, made a perfect start against Pep Guardiola’s side when Eden Hazard’s deflected strike found a way into the Manchester City net in the eighth minute.

The west London outfit suffered a mishap midway through the half when Thibaut Courtois’s mistake allowed Sergio Aguero to equalise for the visitors.

However, Hazard was on the mark again before half-time when he was quick to tuck home the loose ball after his initial spot-kick effort was saved.

Azpilicueta was thrilled that the Chelsea players were able to secure three points in the Stamford Bridge cauldron on Wednesday night.

Chelsea will take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in their next Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.
