Chelsea star sends honest message about his future to fans
Diego Costa appears to suggest that he would be happy to stay at Chelsea beyond the summer transfer window
Diego Costa has insisted that he is “very happy” at Chelsea as the speculation about his future beyond the club continues.
The Spanish striker has been one of the Blues’ top performers this season and has scored 17 goals in the Premier League to help the west London side build a seven-point lead at the top of the table.
Costa has been linked with a move away from Chelsea in the last two transfer windows but a switch failed to materialise for the Brazil-born forward.
It remains to be seen whether Costa will remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer transfer window.
However, the Spain international has appeared to indicate that he would be happy to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer.
Costa told SFR Sport: “I have another two years on my current contract and I am always very honest with those close to me. I tell them that I am very happy at Chelsea.
“The club gives me a lot, the supporters, the team-mates. I am in a team that is winning and that motivates me even more.
“If you are in a team that is winning, you always want to stay for the allotted amount of time. I am not necessarily saying that I am happy with my life in London but that is something completely different. It has nothing to do with it.”
The striker, who signed from Atletico Madrid in 2014, will be expecting to lead the line for Chelsea when the Blues travel to Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
