Antonio Conte has told Chelsea fans that he wants to stay at the club for many years.

The Blues have earned plenty of praise for their performances this season under new manager Conte following his appointment as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor last summer.

Conte’s side are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table as they chase a domestic double in his first season in charge at the club, although their title hopes took a blow on Sunday after their 2-0 loss to Manchester United.

Chelsea’s transformation under the Italian has been nothing short of remarkable given the Blues’ struggles last season.

The west London club ended up 10th in the table and without a trophy last season after the sacking of Jose Mourinho back in December 2015.

And Conte has now underlined his desire to stay at Stamford Bridge for many years as long as he continues to deliver success.

Conte told Sky Sports before Sunday’s game: “I hope to stay for a long time here.

“Coaching is not an easy job and a lot depends on the results.

“I like to think results are important, but they are not everything. I think for every coach our work is important every day and then to be judged.

“During the game I think I show my passion and my will to not lose. I don’t want to lose.

“I love football and I think people understand my passion. It’s great to know that Chelsea fans are happy with me.”
