Gary Neville reacts to Pedro’s wonder-goal in Chelsea’s 3-0 win at Everton
Gary Neville heaps praise on Pedro Rodriguez after the Spaniard's brilliant goal in Chelsea's 3-0 win at Everton
Gary Neville hailed a moment of brilliance from Pedro Rodriguez after the Spaniard fired Chelsea to a 3-0 win over Everton with a brilliant long-range effort.
After a goalless first half at Goodison Park, Pedro picked up the ball on the edge of the box and fired a brilliant left-footed shot into the top corner in the 66th minute.
Gary Cahill then added a second in the 78th minute when he turned home Eden Hazard’s free-kick, before Willian added another late on.
Pedro’s goal helped to wrap up a crucial win for Chelsea and took the Blues one step closer towards clinching the Premier League title next month, leaving them seven points clear before Tottenham’s clash with Arsenal later in the day.
And former Manchester United defender Neville was very impressed indeed by Pedro’s goal.
Speaking during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, Neville said: “All the attention has been on Eden Hazard and Diego Costa but it’s Pedro who produced a magic, magic moment.
“Phil Jagielka doesn’t get tight to him but you can never expect that Pedro was going to do that.
“He just got that yard and it was absolutely brilliant – the power and accuracy… the goalkeeper had absolutely no chance.”
Chelsea return to Premier League action with a home clash against Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge next Monday Night.
