Antonio Conte has warned his Chelsea players that they will only guarantee Premier League title success if they win six of their remaining eight games.

The Blues took a big step towards winning the top-flight title this season when they beat Manchester City 2-1 at Stamford Bridge thanks to Eden Hazard’s double in west London.

Chelsea are currently seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham after Spurs left it late to seal a 3-1 win at Swansea on Wednesday night.

The west London side will not turn their attentions towards their Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

However, Conte has warned his players to only focus on their own fortunes – and reminded them that they are six wins from lifting the title.

Speaking at his post-match news conference at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, Conte said: “First of all I think it’s better to look at ourselves.

“The Tottenham result is important but the most important results is ours, we have to continue to think like that.

“The best way is to think Tottenham can win eight games. To win the title we need 18 points and that’s the best way for us.”

That would mean Chelsea would secure the title if they beat West Brom at Stamford Bridge on 13 May.
