Antonio Conte admits that Chelsea's lack of clean sheets in the Premier League is a cause for concern
Antonio Conte has admitted that he is concerned about Chelsea’s recent inability to keep clean sheets.
The Italian manager watched his side take another step towards winning the Premier League title on Saturday evening when they sealed a 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Goals from Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso secured the Blues the thee points as they kept their seven-point lead at the top of the table.
However, Chelsea conceded on the stroke of half-time when Joshua King pulled one back for the hosts.
Chelsea have not kept a clean sheet in the Premier League since the 2-0 win over Hull City back in January.
And the Chelsea boss admitted that his side’s defensive record is cause for concern.
Asked if Chelsea’s lack of clean sheets is a concern, Conte told his news conference on Saturday: “Yes, but in this case I prefer to accept the win and not have a clean sheet.
“Now in this period since Hull City we are not able to have a clean sheet, but it happens.”
Chelsea are now preparing for their crunch Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as they look to take another step towards the title.
