Claudio Ranieri has praised Antonio Conte for the way in which he has adapted to life in the Premier League.

The Italian manager has earned plenty of praise for the positive impact he has had at Chelsea since being appointed as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor at Stamford Bridge last year.

Conte has guided Chelsea to the top of the Premier League table, with the west London side currently seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea’s dramatic upturn in form this season has been in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they ended up 10th and without a trophy in the wake of Mourinho’s sacking.

And Ranieri has been hugely impressed by the impact Conte has had at Chelsea since taking over at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Ranieri said: “The character is the same. In Italy, he was very passionate. It was normal.

“He changed some things. He adapted his character to the Premier League players and the ambience. It is harder in England.”
