Nemanja Matic has claimed that Tottenham are the strongest opposition Chelsea have faced in the Premier League this season.

The Blues are currently leading the way at the top of the Premier League but have seen their lead at the top cut down to just four points following a recent blip in form from Antonio Conte’s men.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have been in brilliant form in the Premier League in recent weeks and have been Chelsea’s closest challengers this term.

Spurs are currently just four points behind the Blues with six games to play as the Premier League title race heads towards a photo-finish.

And Chelsea midfielder Matic admits that Spurs have been in incredibly impressive form this season under Mauricio Pochettino.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website before Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Spurs, Matic said: “They are very good, for me maybe the strongest in the Premier League from the opponents we have faced this season.

“They are hard to play against because they are strong physically and they can also play with the ball.”
