Antonio Conte has heaped praise on N’Golo Kante after the Chelsea midfielder was crowned the PFA player of the year on Sunday.

Kante has earned plenty of new admirers for his sparkling form for the Blues this term after joining the west London side from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

The France international caught the eye last season as he helped Leicester to win the Premier League title before joining the Blues last year.

The midfielder has since continued his fine form in the English top flight to help Chelsea establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

Kante was rewarded for his fine form by being crowned PFA player of the year ahead of team-mate Eden Hazard on Sunday night.

And Conte has admitted his delight with how Kante’s first season at Stamford Bridge has unfolded so far.

“He’s working a lot, he’s improving as a player and he’s a really good guy,” Conte told a news conference at Cobham on Monday afternoon.

Chelsea are currently preparing for their Premier League clash with Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
