Tony Gale has claimed that Tottenham’s players are looking sharper than Chelsea’s as the Premier League title race hots up.

The Lilywhites blew the title race wide open at the weekend as they closed the gap to leaders Chelsea down to just four points as the Blues were beaten 2-0 at Manchester United.

Spurs have been in fine form in recent weeks and have won their last two games 4-0 to boost their hopes of pipping Chelsea to the title.

However, Gale has been surprised to observe that some of Mauricio Pochettino’s players appear to be in better shape than their Chelsea counterparts in the closing stages of the season.

Gale told Sky Sports News HQ: “Tottenham look a little bit fitter than Chelsea, which is astounding because Chelsea haven’t had European football all season.”
