Wayne Bridge is backing Chelsea to win the title this season – and they retain the top-flight crown next term.

The Blues have been the Premier League’s standout team this season and have earned plenty of praise for their strong performances under new boss Antonio Conte.

Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League table as they chase the title in Conte’s first campaign in England.

The west London side have not had to worry about European football this season following their 10th-placed finish last term but are on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The Blues are likely to strengthen in the summer transfer window and former Chelsea star Bridge is backing them to be even stronger next season under Conte.

Speaking to BetStars, Bridge said: “The gap is too big for anyone to catch Chelsea [this season].

“There’s a lot of good players in that team and they have a fantastic manager in Antonio Conte who has made them very solid defensively.

“Going on what they’ve achieved this season, I could see them winning the title again next year as well.”
